Secondhand motorcycle much in demand in Indonesia. Because, apart from being cheaper, buyers can use it immediately without having to wait for the number plate and papers to come down. So, what kind of used motorbikes are consumers looking for?
The owner of Tirta Motor in the Bekasi area, West Java, Dul Ahmadi said, used motorbike traders must know what kind of vehicles consumers are looking for. According to him, automatic scooters are still the most popular motorcycle model for buyers.
“So if you go to a used motorcycle dealer, you often see automatic motorbikes, right? Rarely do you have a scooter or sport motorbike. The problem is that the dealer wants to take goods that sell quickly. So, fortunately, it doesn’t take long,” said Dul when he was visited by detikOto recently.

In more detail, according to Dul, there are several products in the scooter segment that are the easiest to sell. Usually these products depart from the class entry level which is really cheap.
“The ones that are easy to sell are usually cheap automatic motorbikes that are used for (use) daily, like BeAT, Mio, Scoopy, or Vario. If the bigger ones are PCX and Nmax, they’re also not bad (easily sold),” he said.
Dul explained that many consumers are actually looking for older motorbikes, or at least not very new ones. Because, the price is much cheaper. Those who came to the store looking for a Honda Beat, he said, usually asked for an older model first.

Meanwhile, for other models such as ducks and sports, Dul admitted that he was picky. According to him, selling used motorbikes in this segment is not an easy matter.
“Usually, when it comes to sports motorbikes, we just wait for requests. For example, if someone wants to (buy) R15 for that year, we’ll look for it first. We also have connections. But we stock it a few times, but it’s just not often,” he said.
