The pharmacy has taken up residence there since March 28. Leaving her old building in rue du Commandant-Chaumonot, Isabelle Monnier, the owner, and her team took their place in a modern pharmacy of more than 250 m2.
More spacious and accessible, with the 35 parking spaces made available, the pharmacy is one of the two poles that make up the new equipment, inaugurated in rue Fernig in Mortagne-du-Nord this Friday, April 29.
This is also where the many elected officials present began their visit, before unveiling the inaugural plaque and cutting the tricolor ribbon.
Tribute to Philippe Langacher
Elected officials, in the forefront of which the mayor, Michel Quiévy, who had a moved thought for his works assistant Philippe Langacher, who disappeared a few days before this inauguration. “He invested himself every day of his mandate for the good progress of the works, the transactions with the concessionaires. His disappearance upsets us.”
After a minute of silence in tribute, the mayor, accompanied by the regional advisers, Jean-Michel Michalak, and departmental advisers, Eric Renaud and Claudine Deroeux, the deputy Fabien Roussel and the vice-president of the CAPH, Dalila Duwez-Guesmia, invited residents and associations present to discover this superb setting.
A structure open to the environment
During the visit, the audience discovered professional health equipment with a spacious, bright and warm reception, offices open to nature while respecting privacy, despite large bay windows overlooking a wooded park.
“Everything was thought out according to the wishes of the doctors and the pharmacist”, welcomes the mayor. A bold project by the architect with innovative wood-straw insulation, exterior masonry in white facing bricks and interior masonry in mud brick which allows good humidity regulation and thermal inertia of the building.
But also exteriors that provide a real setting for the project, integrated into nature integrating the nearby Scarpe with a half-wet, half-dry landscape thanks to the green spaces created by the technical services of the municipality.
A pharmacy, a dentist and two general practitioners
The project dates back to April 2017. Faced with the growing medical desertification in our villages, the elected officials of Mortagne are thinking about the construction of an establishment that can allow the grouping of different health professionals.
Since then, in addition to the Monnier pharmacy, two general practitioners have settled there – doctors Patrick Gauthier, David Vandromme – joined by dentist Bertrand Cury.
Other specialists will soon join this building to further strengthen the diversity of choices in terms of care offered to the inhabitants of the villages of Amandinois.
