Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad rescinded the lobbying contracts of the public relations agencies run by the cabinet JPC Strategies, and that defended the interests of Morocco under the Trump administration. At the moment, the kingdom did not choose any agency to influence the Biden administration.

The contract of $ 75,000 per month between Morocco and the JPC Strategies cabinet was annulled as of January 17, 2021. As usual, the kingdom terminated the lobbying contract upon the arrival of a new administration in the United States. This decision affects public relations agencies under JPC Strategies such as FGH Holdings (former Glover Park Group) and Neal Creek, founded by Senator Lindsey Graham, a member of the Republican Party.

JPC Strategies hiring dates back to January 2018 when Morocco deactivated Democratic lobbyists with the arrival of the Trump administration. Thanks to this cabinet, the kingdom obtained in part American recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara in exchange for the normalization of its diplomatic relations with Israel. A recognition that continues to elicit lively reactions with the intensification of calls for its questioning.
