According to monthly statistics issued by the Association of Car Importers in Morocco, total car sales in Morocco amounted to 36,816 units at the end of March 2023, a decrease of 11.07 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

The association stated that, according to category, the number of new registrations for private cars decreased by 8.71 percent, with 33 thousand and 757 units sold at the end of March, while the number of light utility cars decreased by 30.82 percent, with 3059 units sold.

The “Dacia” brand continues to dominate the private car category, with a market share of 24.53 percent, equivalent to 3 thousand and 60 units sold at the end of March 2023, followed by the “Renault” brand, of which 1879 units were sold (15.06 percent). of market share), then the “Hyundai” brand (1,530 units and 12.26 percent of market share).

In light commercial vehicles, Renault sold a total of 229 units (20.02 percent market share), ahead of Dongfeng Sokon (DFSK) which sold 224 units (19.58 percent market share). market) and the “Hyundai” brand with a total of 168 units (14.69 percent market share).

In the luxury segment, the BMW brand sold 358 units, which is equivalent to 2.87 percent of the market share, ahead of the Audi brand (350 units and 2.81 percent of the market share). ), followed by Mercedes (274 units and 2.20 percent market share).

For its part, the Porsche brand sold 64 units, with a market share of 0.51 percent, while the Jaguar brand sold 11 cars (0.09 percent).
