The Bern government wants to put the canton’s financial budget on a new legal basis. She has had a new Financial Budget Act (FHG) drawn up, which she will send for consultation by June 4th.
As the cantonal government announced on Thursday, the new FHG is intended to provide the canton of Bern with state-of-the-art financial budget law that focuses on the essentials. If it is accepted by the Grand Council, it will replace the previous law on the control of finances and services (FLG). This came into force on January 1, 2005.
The FLG will be replaced, among other things, because the canton of Bern will be introducing the SAP software for enterprise resource planning (ERP) from 2023. This software will bring savings, but also process harmonization, quality improvements and efficiency gains. This in the areas of finance, personnel and logistics. Finance and accounting will be simplified and optimized.
