Ernst Kuipers, chairman of the National Acute Care Network, expects the number of hospital admissions to increase further in the coming days. The “sharp rise” is in line with previous predictions, he says.
“On the basis of the contamination figures, we expect the number of hospital admissions to increase further in the coming days. The ratio between the number of clinical and intensive care patients remains different than during the first peak.”

Of the admitted corona patients, 647 are outside the intensive care unit. That is 62 more than yesterday. There are 163 corona patients on the IC, 7 more than the day before.
In addition, 536 patients without a corona are on the IC, 35 fewer than yesterday. The total ic occupancy is therefore 699, 28 less than the previous day.
In the last 24 hours there have been 11 movements between the regions. In 3 cases it concerned an IC patient.

The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) also reported new infections today. Since yesterday afternoon, 4007 new corona infections have been reported to the RIVM. That is slightly more than yesterday, when 3,971 infections were reported in 24 hours. More than 24,000 new infections have been reported in the past seven days.
In Amsterdam 457 new infections were reported, most of all. Rotterdam and The Hague follow with 267 and 256 positive tests.
Yesterday the number of cases in Groningen and Tilburg increased rapidly, but the increase did not continue today. In Groningen 75 new cases were reported, yesterday that was double. 55 positive tests were reported in Tilburg on Sunday, compared to 81 yesterday.
