More than 600 corona patients in intensive care hospitals, 23,142 positive corona tests Inland

The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) does not know how many positive tests there would have been on Wednesday and Thursday without a malfunction.

Thursday’s number is the highest number of positive tests in more than a week, but the average remains fairly stable. In the past seven days, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) received 150,800 reports of positive tests. It amounts to an average of 21,543 new cases per day.

That total for the past week is about 3 percent lower than the total for the seven days before. It is the second day in a row that the number of positive tests has fallen on a weekly basis. Before that, it had risen 58 days in a row.

Hospital figures

The number of corona patients in hospital intensive care units rose to 605 on Thursday, the highest level since May 23. That is 18 more than Wednesday, according to figures from the National Coordination Center for Patients Spreading (LCPS).

In total, there are now 2,813 corona patients in hospitals, 45 more than a day earlier. In the nursing wards, the number of corona patients increased by 27 to 2208 in the past 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, 352 new corona patients were brought into the nursing wards. 58 people were admitted to the ICs. For the time being, the LCPS does not see any signs that the number of Covid patients in hospitals will decrease rapidly.
