More Riot’s Valorant screenshots appear

It’s leak season. Despite an alleged embargo lifted later this evening for Riot’s CS: GO competitor, Project A, a ton of screenshots found their way onto the Internet, as well as a list of brands revealing the potential name: Valorant.

Let’s start with the name, first. FPS fans kept an eye on everything Riot did and over the weekend a series of clues all fell at the same time. The first key was the activation of the Twitch and Twitter channels. This was associated with a trademark registered by Riot Games on February 28 for Valorant.

There are no hints here: it’s a much more stylized approach Counter Strike levels, which makes sense from Volcano, an old CS professional and the cartographer responsible for Cache in CS: GO, is one of the main developers of Valorant.

The embargo for Valorant is expected to fall around 6:00 p.m. Australian AEDT time. It will be interesting to see more of a break with the game economy; there are rumors that you can buy weapons or hero skills, and potentially both if you are short on cash. Small details like bonuses for consecutive losses, the potential of different modes and how the hero selection system works will also be interesting to see.
