More homes put up for sale since the start of the corona crisis | NOW

Since the start of the corona crisis in March, more homes have been put up for sale than in the same period a year earlier, research agency Dynamis reports Friday. According to the agency, homeowners are highlighting the planned sale of their home due to the increased uncertainty.

More houses are being put up for sale, especially in Amsterdam and Utrecht, where house prices have risen sharply in a short period of time.

But also in other municipalities that have seen house prices rise by more than 30 percent since the credit crisis, the new offer is a quarter larger than a year earlier. In municipalities with more moderate price increases, supply has grown by 15 percent compared to a year earlier.

In January and February, the number of homes put up for sale actually decreased. However, according to Dynamis, the current increase cannot compensate for this decrease.

House prices have been steadily rising since 2013. According to some economists, the corona crisis will cause house prices to fall.
