More connections at the start of school – Emmendingen

From Monday buses in the district will go back to the school timetable / More trains also on the Rhine Valley Railway and at the Kaiserstuhl.

CIRCLE EMMENDINGEN (mw). With the return of schools to classroom instruction, the requirements for public transport will also change from Monday. The SWEG and Südbadenbus are adjusting their timetables as well as the DB Regio on the Rhine Valley Railway. Extended operations have been running on the Breisgau S-Bahn since April 15.

From Monday onwards, the SWEG regular service buses will once again operate throughout the SWEG traffic area according to the regular school timetable. SWEG then runs up to 80 percent of the regular timetable in train traffic. The biggest changes arise on the routes of network 9b, where the train offer is noticeably increased.

The S-Bahn line 5 between Breisach and Riegel-Malterdingen will run again every hour from Monday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Some trains from Breisach only go to Endingen. Line S2 runs every half hour between Freiburg and Denzlingen until around 7.30 p.m. There are no changes to the Corona timetable on weekends.

The rail replacement service Elztalbahn will run between Denzlingen and Elzach from May 4th according to the regular school timetable, supplemented by three additional journeys.

From Monday, the Rheintalbahn will operate between Offenburg and Freiburg largely according to the Corona timetable, with the addition of some trains. New to the plan is a train at 12.04 p.m. from Offenburg (12.40 p.m. from Emmendingen), which arrives in Freiburg at 12.57 p.m. From there it goes back at 1:25 p.m. (1:39 p.m. from Emmendingen). DB hopes to relax the situation at the sixth school lesson in the greater Emmendingen area.

The early and late buses will be replaced by trains with more attractive travel times. The DB also supplements train traffic south of Freiburg.

According to DB Regio, the adjustments planned for Monday for the Breisgau S-Bahn were already implemented on April 15. At the request of the ZRF, the state and the Freiburg clinic, the number of trains and additional buses had been increased significantly and the evening shift times covered.

From Monday, the SBG will also travel in the RVF area according to the school schedule as before Corona. Only the night buses after 11 p.m. are not yet used for the time being – however, individual connecting buses to trains and the replacement rail buses continue to operate after 11 p.m. The customer center in Freiburg will also be open again from Monday.

Important: The mask requirement in local public transport also applies to the platforms and bus platforms.
