– More autumn than winter

– It looks like the low pressures will bother us all next week, meteorologist on duty Charalampos Sarchosidis at the Meteorological Institute states when Dagbladet calls on Thursday.

If anyone is in doubt about what it means, Sarchosidis takes it upon himself to rub it in:

– If I am to summarize next week, it will be mild and wet.

Night frost

Thus, it becomes extra important to take care of the bright spots, which come this weekend.

– On Friday, the temperature, at least in northern Norway, will drop to zero. There will be winter weather from Friday night, and then many places in northern Norway will get snow, Sarchosidis says.

Also in southern Norway it gets colder, with night frost especially inland, and daytime temperatures just a few degrees above zero.

– Along the west coast, the temperature can reach eight degrees, says Sarchosidis.

He reckons that there will also be some precipitation in the south, especially in Agder, while people in Eastern Norway have slightly better prospects.

The meteorologist’s weekend tips

– It will probably be the best in Eastern Norway. Friday and Saturday can offer periods of sunshine, says Sarchosidis.

He gives, unsolicited, the following advice:

– If you get sun on Friday and Saturday, you must take advantage of it, because it will end on Sunday!

Even though a high pressure settles over the country on Sunday, it will be cold and little sun. In northern Norway, for example, low, thin clouds will block the sun.

– The most difficult area this weekend will be the west coast, says Charalampos Sarchosidis.

And when the weekend is over, it gets even worse.

Worst in Nordland

– There will be a change of weather, warns the meteorologist.

– The high pressure I mentioned will disappear to the east already on Monday night. Then a low pressure over Iceland causes worse weather all over the west coast, from Rogaland and up to northern Norway, with increasing winds on Monday, he says.

The worst will be in Nordland on Monday and Tuesday.

“Eastern Norway is sheltered from the wind. It will not be great weather there either, but at least bad. ”
– Charalampos Sarchosidis, meteorologist

There will be a lot of both rain and wind, but the rest of the country will not go free either.

– It will be plus degrees all over Norway, and more autumn than winter, says Sarchosidis, who believes that the low pressures will plague the whole country next week.

And the winner is…

– In Eastern Norway, there will not be as much wind and precipitation, but even there, rain is expected at the end of next week.

– So who will be the weather winner?

– Eastern Norway. It will be westerly weather, and Eastern Norway is sheltered from the wind. It will not be great weather there either, but at least bad, says Charalampos Sarchosidis.
