Overview The parts of the figures of the Monument to the Soviet Army were wrapped in nylon.

Before Bulgaria ON AIR the regional governor of Sofia, Vyara Todeva, confirmed that she has appealed the decision of the Administrative Court, which stopped the dismantling of the Monument to the Soviet Army.

According to the court, there was no order issued by the regional governor to start the dismantling and stopped it on the day when the last figure was removed from the pedestal. According to Todeva, there is no legal basis to issue a similar administrative act for dismantling, which is sought by the court.

In the documents examined by the court, the regional administration referred to an old order of the chief architect of Sofia Zdravko Zdravkov, which only affects facing plates with inscriptions on the monument.
