In a statement, APA claims to have issued a DIA “for the complementary airport of Montijo, confirming the conditional favorable decision the adoption of Solution 2 of the previous study of the southern extension of Lane 01/19 and an alternative solution of the previous study of the road connection to the A12 [autoestrada 12]”.
This decision maintains about 160 minimization and compensation measures that ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal “will have to comply with”, which amount to around 48 million euros, the note said.
In the statement, APA adds that the measures – related to birdlife, noise, mobility and climate change – “allow to minimize and compensate for the negative environmental impacts of the project, which will be detailed in the execution project phase”.
The environmentalists are against the favorable opinion and guarantee that they will go to court to prevent the progress of the works.
