A month after the murder of Ilse Uyttersprot (53), her murderer Jurgen Demesmaeker remains vague about his motives. The council chamber extended his arrest on Friday. The mother of the former mayor of Aalst hopes for answers as to why her daughter had to die. “She still finds it hard to believe that her child is dead. The loss of her daughter is immensely difficult for that woman, ”says her counsel Jef Vermassen.
