Montebello Residents Gather for Third Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration

As the mariachi band played, Montebello residents waited in line to go up to the community altar at the city’s third annual Día de los Muertos celebration on Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Juan Matias Sanchez Adobe Museum. Día de los Muertos – also known as Day of the Dead – is an annual celebratory holiday to remember those who have passed away. It is celebrated on Nov. 1 and 2 with altars made up of offerings in memory of the dead, music, food and more.
