Montauban Schools Excel in the Cliiink Challenge, Promoting Glass Packaging Sorting

the essential Le Grand Montauban and Sirtomad organized the Cliiink challenge in the schools of the agglomeration. The goal: to collect the most glass packaging to raise awareness of sorting.

Raise awareness, in a fun way, about waste treatment; this was the whole purpose of the Cliiink challenge, launched by the urban community of Greater Montauban (or GMCA) and the mixed Syndicate for the treatment of household waste and other waste (Sirtomad) of the agglomeration. To do this, schoolchildren from nine establishments (including two groups) had to collect as many glass containers as possible at home and with their loved ones and throw them in the terminals equipped with the Cliiink system. With each maneuver, a point was added to the parent’s account, allowing him to benefit from advantages with partner merchants and, also, to increase the pot of the establishment.

In total, “28,013 glass packaging were collected and recycled during this challenge, note the services of Grnad Montauban. The ranking was established by reducing the number of packaging collected to the number of students in each establishment. And it was the Montalbanaise school in Saint-Hilaire which, with its 64 students, was the most efficient!” The Paillole school in Albefeuille-Lagarde (56 pupils) won the silver medal, the bronze going to the Fonneuve school group (Montauban) and its 206 pupils.

Two schools labeled Eco-schools and E3D

In parallel with this Cliiink competition, the schools of the agglomeration are committed to preserving the planet, within the framework of the Eco-schools and E3D labeling procedures. “They are awarded to those who are committed to eco-responsible operation and integrate education for sustainable development (EDD) into teaching. In Montauban, two schools have just been decorated with the Écolécole label on the themes of sorting and composting: the Center school and Camille-Claudel”, we say at Grand Montauban. An awards ceremony took place at the beginning of the month in the two previous establishments and the school of Saint-Hilaire, in the presence in particular of Marie-Claude Berly, first deputy to the town hall delegated to Urban planning, sustainable development, energy transition and energy savings.
