REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Service continues to do so monkeypox vaccination for groups who have a history of close contact with patients. This was done to suppress the spread of the disease in Jakarta.

“The total number of recipients of vaccination for dose 1 was 495 people and dose 2 was 416 people,” said Head of the Surveillance, Epidemiology and Immunization Section of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Service (Dinkes) Ngabila Salama when contacted in Jakarta, Saturday (9/12/2023).

The vaccination, said Ngabila, was carried out on groups who had had close contact with the patient. “Yes, that’s right (given to those who have had close contact),” said Ngabila.

As of Friday (8/12/2023) at 19.00 WIB, a total of 44 positive cases of monkey pox were recorded (monkeypox/mpox) since October 2023 in the DKI Jakarta area. “All had mild symptoms, all were infected from sexual contact and all were men aged 25-50 years,” said Ngabila.

Of the 44 patients, 34 people have been declared cured and 10 people are still being treated. “Five are self-isolating, five are in hospital,” said Ngabila.
