A couple of couples had a nightmare because the baby they spent months raising was not theirs. According to media in Los Angeles, where this story occurred, the babies developed inside the wombs of the wrong mother and one of the couples ended up suing the fertilization clinic for negligence.
It was in an In Vitro Fertilization clinic where unfortunately the embryos were changed by mistake, both mothers carried the wrong embryo that continued with its development without complications.
When the mothers received their babies, Alexander Cardinale, one of the parents felt that something was wrong after cutting the umbilical cord.
“It was kind of a primary reaction. If we hadn’t done IVF, I would have attributed (the lack of similarity) to genetics. ” For his part, his wife assured that it was an experience that changed their lives “This is something that has just changed who we are. It continues to be a daily struggle and it would continue to be ”.
After suspecting this, the couple looked for answers, because the baby looked different from them, the woman, Daphna, tried to calm Alexander since although she felt that she was not the same, she carried her in her womb for nine months.
After a month, the clinic asked them for a photo of the baby they named Olivia, which seemed strange to them, due to the pressure of the couple’s close friends, Daphna did a DNA test and there confirmed her suspicions.
The nightmare began because on the one hand they became fond of Olivia and another because she was not their biological daughter, it was then that the clinic sent them the photo of their biological daughter who had blonde hair and blue eyes.
In the end the couple sued the clinic, although they still live with Olivia, their real parents now have a bond with each other.
