Mogo / LSPA returned to the Optibet Hockey League (OHL) position on Sunday. Rigans won “Liepāja” in the series of post-match throws with the result 4: 3 (1: 1, 0: 0, 2: 2, 0: 0, 1: 0).
Kristaps Nīmanis put the home team in the sixth minute, but two and a half minutes before the end of the first period Andris Siksnis reached the minority 1: 1. In the second third, the goal was not scored, but in the third period, in the sixth minute, Klāvs Plānics regained the lead. Six minutes before the end of the regular time, Vladimir Mamonov equalized the result, but 42 seconds before the final whistle, David Sarkanis put the people of Riga in the lead for the first time in the game. However, five seconds before the end of the match, Fyodor Jarovinski reached 3: 3 and the duel did not end after 60 minutes. The goal was not scored in extra time, but the “Mogo” / LSPA team won the post-throw series with 0: 0, for which Kārlis Ozoliņš realized the “bull”.
In the tournament table, the “Mogo” / LSPA team takes the first place with 36 points in 19 fights, followed by “Zemgale” / LLU with 35 points in 21 matches. “Liepāja” is third with 23 points in 18 duels, but immediately after it with 22 points won in 17 games is “Olimp” / “Venta 2002”, while in fifth place is the Hockey School “Rīga”, which has won nine points in 18 games. Riga’s “Prizma” is in the sixth place with five points in 17 matches, but Daugavpils “Dinaburga” has won three points in 16 matches.
Last season the OHL Cup was won by Olimp / Venta 2002, but in the regular season the victory was celebrated by Zemgale / LLU. The first Latvian hockey championship took place 90 years ago.
