The concluding document of the twenty-eighth conference of the Office of Social Communication of the Joint Council of Catholic Bishops’ Associations of Asia, organized from November 20 to 24, highlights the important role of modern social media in the life of the Church and the mission of evangelization.

The Office of Social Communication of the Asian Catholic Bishops’ Conference (FABC-OSC) says that modern social media are divine gifts for the service of humanity.
This statement is contained in the concluding document of the office’s twenty-eighth conference held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, from November 20 to 24. Thirty people from different countries including bishops, priests and lay people participated in this conference.
Remembering that every Christian is a communicator and that God is the most perfect communicator, all new technologies, including written intelligence, must be understood and used with critical intelligence, and that these technologies can contribute and provide opportunities for the Church, her communication ministry and evangelistic mission.
The document sees evangelism as imparting life and sharing the beauty of union with the Risen One who is present in our midst.
