How would you like to drive a big electric cat? You’re here will soon offer an option that will allow some of its Model S and
Model X to do a much more efficient start. This feature, called “Cheetah” (“Cheetah”), would reproduce the behavior of the feline on these
cars, reports
Futura Sciences.

When the driver activates the system, the air suspension is programmed to lower the front of the car, as if the car rears before jumping. The date of the update of the on-board software that will make this mode available has not yet been announced.

46 more horsepower

Several Tesla customers have, however, already been able to test the feature before the others. This is the case of the YouTube channel DragTimes, which shared with its approximately 266,000 subscribers a video demonstration of the device. The video shows the performance of a Model S Performance equipped with the “Raven” option.

The latter can be added to the Performance and Long Range versions of the two car models. This configuration offers a variable air suspension compatible with the Cheetah function, explains Futura Sciences.

This acceleration is made possible by an added power of 46 horsepower compared to the standard configuration, reports the specialized media. The software update allows the Tesla used for this test to reach 100 km / h from a standing start in 2.4 seconds. The driver is very impressed and even breathless by the rapid ramp-up. “We are flying there,” he reacted.
