MLS – Defeating Columbus and Cincinnati, respectively, Minnesota and Portland qualified for the quarterfinals of the MLS tournament on Tuesday night. They face San José and New York City FC on Saturday.
Minnesota and Portland beat Columbus (1-1, 5-3 on tabs) and Cincinnati (1-1, 4-2 on tabs) on Tuesday to advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament organized by MLS at Disney World. These two teams are the last to qualify for the quarterfinals of the MLS resume tournament, which has been played since July 8 in a health “bubble” in Orlando, Florida, after the championship was interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Minnesota will face San Jose while Portland plays New York City FC on Saturday. The first two quarters will pit Philadelphia against Kansas City on Thursday, and Orlando against Los Angeles FC on Friday.
