MLS – In a statement on its official website on Friday night, Atlanta United said Dutchman Frank de Boer was no longer their coach. The former FC Barcelona defender joined the MLS franchise in December 2018.
Atlanta United and Frank de Boer split by mutual agreement on Friday following elimination in the group stage of the MLS tournament. Atlanta United finished fourth and last in their group with three defeats in as many games with an identical score (1-0), behind closed doors in Orlando (Florida). The formation of the former defender of Ajax Amsterdam and FC Barcelona was the only one not to score a goal in this tournament, and the second with Inter Miami to have lost all three meetings.
