Even before May 1, Mladá Boleslav presented another reinforcement for the upcoming season. She agreed on cooperation with the American defender Zach Osburn, the club announced his arrival on the website.
“Zach is a creative and at the same time always offensive fullback who can get the job done. He’s a right-handed power forward that we’ve been missing, with a good shot and good skating,” explains sports director Martin Ševc.
Osburn (26) fully demonstrated his strengths in Michalovce, Slovakia: with 31 points (14+17), he conquered the team’s scoring. No one in the entire league has scored more goals than him.

The Central Bohemians are therefore hoping to kick-start their moribund attack. After all, last season they were worse going forward than the last Kladno.
“We believe that he will succeed in our country in the same way as he did in Slovakia,” says Ševc about Osburn, who grew up playing hockey in Detroit.
After four years of NCAA college experience, he briefly battled for a farm spot in Nashville and Calgary. For the next two years in the lower ECHL, he played for the Kansas City Mavericks, on the old continent he first landed in Ritten, Italy.
Now he will taste another European competition. “The Czech League is known in Europe as a high-level top league. “I consider it a big step in my career to get the opportunity to make a name for myself in it,” says Osburn.

“Now I’ll be home for a few weeks, resting and enjoying my family. I will arrive in Boleslav in mid-July, a few days before the team goes on the ice. I’m really looking forward to meeting the fans and everyone in the organization,” he adds.
