Missiles fired at Kabul airport Abroad

Journalists from the French news agency AFP heard several rockets flying over the city. Residents living near the airport told AFP they heard that the missile defense system was being activated. In the north of the city, where the airport is also located, smoke can be seen rising above the buildings.

A security source within the fallen Afghan government reports that the missiles were fired from a vehicle in northern Kabul.

It is not known who fired or what the target was. In recent days, Americans have carried out two drone strikes on the Afghan branch of IS (IS-K) in retaliation for Thursday’s bombing, which unofficially killed 170 people. Thirteen American soldiers were also killed.
