Miss Oaxaca could reach 50 years in prison for kidnapping | THE IMPARTIAL

OAXACA, Oaxaca.- This Saturday a judge issued a formal prison order to eight people for the crime of illegal deprivation of liberty, among them Laura Mojica Romero, Miss Oaxaca 2018, originally from Tuxtepec and who was recently crowned in 2020 as International Queen of the Coffee 2020.

The beauty queen is accused of belonging to a gang of kidnappers that operated in the area of ​​Veracruz – Huatusco, for which the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Specialized Unit in Combating Kidnapping (UECS) linked the eight detainees to the process.

The first sentence imposed by the authority is two months while the evidence that will end their legal situation is analyzed, and can reach up to a maximum sentence of 50 years behind bars.

The other seven people who were sentenced to preventive detention were Luis Antonio “N”, Raúl “N”, María del Rosario “N”, Ana Martha “N”, César Enrique “N”, Diego “N”, and Jossiel “N” to make the corresponding inquiries.

Laura Mojica’s career

The 25-year-old has a degree in Administration, according to her Instagram biography, she was a spokesperson for associations related to the fight against breast cancer and childhood cancer. And he was currently studying for a Master’s in Finance.

Her modeling career began a few years ago and one of the first crowns to win was that of Miss Earth Oaxaca 2015 and in the national Miss Earth Mexico pageant she got the opportunity to represent Mexico in an international pageant.
