Minsal reported 76 deaths and record of PCR tests: 24,398 and 9% positivity

The Ministry of Health reported today another 76 deaths attributable to covid-19, according to figures from the Minsal Department of Statistics and Information (DEIS), bringing the total number of deaths to 9,533.

Delivering the daily report, the Undersecretary of Public Health, Paula Daza, pointed out that the positivity of the PCR tests fell to 9% positivity, with a record number of 24,398 tests.

For his part, the undersecretary of Healthcare Networks, Arturo Zúñiga, indicated that 1,979 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours: 1,426 with symptoms, 440 asymptomatic and 113 without notification. The total number of cases reached 357,658, of which 17,621 remain active. The recovered patients number 330,507 people.

It also reported that there are 1,445 patients hospitalized in intensive care units, of which 226 remain in critical condition. The availability of fans is 551.

On the number of 24,398 PCR tests (with a cumulative of 1,648,390), Zúñiga stressed that it is due to the active search for cases. “We have gone to the neighborhoods, primary care has come from the doctor’s offices, from the Cesfam,” he said.

Finally, he indicated that there are 10,717 places with 5,297 users in 158 health residences throughout the country.
