World Art Day was declared on April 15, 2019 by UNESCO, with the intention of strengthening the links between artistic creations and society, in addition to highlighting education in art since culture is the door to an education. more inclusive.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the State of Mexico joins this date with the approach of art to society, through manifestations such as painting, sculpture, music, dance, literature, in addition to theater and cinema, in their many forms. spaces.

Art has the power to change the life perspective of many people, since it is a medium that helps connect with emotions, thoughts or even to be able to live with more people, in addition to developing the creativity of each artist.

In this context of commemoration, it was the plastic artist Pelayo del Villar who expressed: “art is very important to me because not only is it the medium in which I develop, but it is also a way to connect ideas, thoughts, to express feelings. , and it becomes a way of knowing the world around us.”

Through art you can also inspire, promote intercultural dialogue, question social norms, boost the economy and contribute to the personal and emotional development of people, which is why it is important to open more spaces that allow an encounter with it.
