Minister of National Education, Pap Ndiaye, announces updates for inclusive schools and AESH salaries during official visit to La Manche.

During the morning of this Monday, May 22, 2023Pap Ndiaye, Minister ofNational Educationwas in official visit in the Channel.

He first had an appointment at Jacques-Prévert college of Coutances, to talk aboutinclusive school. The Coutançais establishment is an excellent example of this since it welcomes young people from the medico-educational institute three mornings a week.

Whoever owns a holiday home in the department, “so dear to his heart”, and more particularly in the Nord-Cotentin, has met and exchanged with studentsof the teachers as well as AESH (accompanying students with disabilities).

Announcements concerning AESH

Pap Ndiaye announced that AESH would move on to 35 hours and would benefit from a 10% wage increase “. It should be noted that the AESH profession is the second most represented (130,000 accompanying persons) within the National Education services. On average, there is one AESH for 7 to 8 teachers.

Abolition of the post of deputy principal at the Félix-Buhot secondary school in Valognes

Pap Ndiaye, Minister of National Education, was questioned about the abolition of the post of deputy principal at the Félix-Buhot college in Valognes. “Valognes is not in a priority education zone”, he justified.

For the rest of the morning, the minister was expected at the primary school of La Cabane Fleurie in Grand-Celland, east of Avranches. This afternoon, Pap Ndiaye will take the direction of Calvados to tackle the National Council for Refoundation and basic knowledge in primary school.
