Indonesia gets a grant modern vaccines 3 million doses from the United States (AS). Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that the Moderna vaccine was specifically prioritized for health workers as a vaccination third stage or booster.
“Please, ladies and gentlemen, the health workers are immediately injected, the Health Offices are immediately injected, and I sincerely plead, please don’t be transferred to non-health workers,” he said at a press conference, Monday (2/8/2021).
Budi explained, because health workers are at the forefront of helping COVID-19 patients. The Minister of Health confirmed that the stock of vaccines for booster health workers has been distributed to all provinces. He asked for this vaccine to be injected immediately to health workers.
“We must prioritize health workers, because they are our soldiers who fight every day,” said the Minister of Health.
The Minister of Health also admitted that many non-health workers are interested in booster vaccines. However, he stressed that non-health workers should not ask for booster vaccines.
Not to mention, there are still many people who have not even received the Corona vaccine. There are 140 million who have not received the first dose.
“So please ladies and gentlemen, the third booster is only for health workers. Because they are at high risk when helping us. But for the rest, please give our 140 million brothers and sisters who have not received the vaccine,” he said.
