The Bernese government wants to remain stricter than the federal government when it comes to hardship cases: it is sticking to its decision that companies must achieve a minimum turnover of 100,000 francs per year in order to be entitled to hardship assistance. The government communicated this decision on Friday. The federal government sets e the threshold at 50,000 francs.
Two motives from the SP and SVP ranks got the discussion rolling. They demand that the required minimum turnover in the canton of Bern is only 50,000 francs. All cantons except Bern and Obwalden have adopted this federal regulation.
