After learning of positive COVID-19 cases at the Mile Public House resto-bar, the Montérégie public health department wanted to make it clear that this could only be one of many cases.

In a video posted on Facebook, the director, Dr. Julie Loslier, indicates that it would be wrong to think that this establishment is more at risk than others.
“It is not the case at all. We were notified at this establishment. We have public health work to do. But it could have happened in any other establishment, ”explains Ms. Loslier.
Currently, public health is working with the owners of the Mile Public House to clarify the situation.
Ms. Loslier cites as an example the United States where an outbreak of COVID-19 is raging in younger populations, especially since the reopening of bars.
The owners of the Mile Public House reacted on Facebook in the afternoon.
“We are in direct contact with the public health department. From what we know so far, [ce sont] 5 people from the same group, seated at the same table, who tested positive. We are also in contact with the people concerned, ”reacted the restaurant on its Facebook page Sunday afternoon.
In addition, Dr. Loslier suggests that public health notes that social distancing is very difficult in “bar” type establishments due to the consumption of alcohol, among others.
“It is both the job of employers and consumers to make the effort necessary to respect distancing. We certainly don’t want to go back, ”she warns.
