Dozens of migrants who fell into the sea, the coast guard shooting into the water, risky maneuvers to prevent the volunteers from Humanity 1 to rescue people on board three inflatable boats. And finally the humanitarian ship that manages to save 77 people while at least one drowns before their eyes.
They are dramatic sequences, documented from above by the Sea Bird aircraft Sea Watchthose experienced in the Mediterranean by the German NGO that had responded to the call from the Sea bird plane which reported around ninety people at risk on three boats.
“A Libyan patrol boat, which shortly before we had documented intercepting a dinghy with around 50 people, arrived on the scene and carried out dangerous maneuvers which caused chaos and several people fell into the water. The patrol boat also fired some shots into the water – say the pilots on board the Sea Watch plane – The criminal actions of the so-called Libyan coast guard are once again causing death and chaos”.
With 77 people on board, Humanity 1 is now headed towards the port of Bari, assigned to it by the Interior Ministry
