Trainer Brian Priske of FC Midtjylland thinks it is possible for his team to grab points in Wednesday’s Champions League match with Ajax. The Dane does realize that it will be a difficult job for his formation.
“We have extensively evaluated our lost duel with Ajax”, Priske said on Tuesday in the run-up to the match against Ajax. “I feel like all players realize what they have to deliver. We know what it’s all about when we enter the field. We can certainly take points home.”
“We have to play a great game,” he continued. “We have to be on top of it for more than ninety minutes, start the duels firmly and play compact, regardless of whether we play on the attack or on the defensive.”
Midtjylland, which makes its debut in the main tournament of the Champions League, is still without points after three group matches. The Danish champion did not make it easy for Liverpool and Ajax.

‘We have already been close to a result twice’
At the end of October, Midtjylland at Anfield had the prospect of a draw against Liverpool (2-0 loss) until injury time and three weeks ago Ajax recorded a difficult victory in Denmark (1-2).
“In a difficult group we have already been close to a result twice”, concluded Priske. “As a newcomer at this level, we always have to adapt. But we do have the qualities to grab points.”
The match between Ajax and FC Midtjylland starts on Wednesday at 9 p.m. in the Johan Cruijff ArenA and is led by Russian referee Sergey Karasev.
