Microsoft Working on Mouse and Keyboard Integration for Xbox Cloud Gaming

Microsoft Flight Simulator head Jorg Neumann reports this in a Q&A† With that support, cloud players get a third option, on top of the already existing support for touch controls – such as on smartphones – and controllers.

Since it’s not his team that is working on the mouse and keyboard support, but the Xbox Cloud Gaming team, Neumann can’t say when it will be implemented. “That happens at the platform level.”

Microsoft Flight Simulator itself already has support for controllers and mouse and keyboard, both on PC and on Xbox Series X and S, but that does not apply to the cloud version of the game. You also need to connect a controller.

Neumann also says that Microsoft Flight Simulator will get touch controls in the coming months. He expresses additional interest in the possibilities of gyroscopic control on telephones, and how that could be used to control airplanes.
