Microsoft takes off switch to using traditional Start Menu

As happened in previous versions, Microsoft focused on the Start Menu as one of the new features of Windows 11. This element has been redesigned and has now been placed in the center of the well-known taskbar.

As an alteration that did not please everyone, ways quickly emerged to alter it and place it in its expected position. Now, and with the first update of Windows 11, Microsoft ended this possibility and the Start Menu returns to its new position.

So the big discussions around Windows are focused on the Start Menu. This was a scenario seen in Windows 8 and even Windows 10, albeit to a much lesser degree. In the case of Windows 11 it seems to be no different, again because of this element.

The change that Microsoft has applied to the Start Menu in its new version is what is most visible. This one is in the middle of the taskbar, with a new layout and with a completely different image, also concentrating the last files opened or created there.

Of course, with this version being tested, it was quickly discovered how to bring back the classic Start Menu, housed on the left side of the taskbar. With a simple change in the registry of this system, everything returned to its original form, which many have gotten used to using.

Microsoft ended this scenario with the new Insider build they released late last week. It permanently removes registry entries that allowed you to change the Start Menu to its classic location, placing it in the original Windows 11 site.

It is true that these are test builds and that they can undergo profound changes over time, gaining and losing features. Still, this appears to be a change Microsoft is unlikely to reverse in the future. The new Start Menu is, without a doubt, the hallmark of Windows 11.

With this change Microsoft also shows that it does not want users to change Windows 11, especially in the system registry. It houses essential system components that should not be changed simply or directly by users.
