Microsoft will launch the Surface Laptop Go with 12.4 “screen on October 27 for a suggested retail price starting at 629 euros. A version of the Surface Pro X will be released with a more powerful Arm-soc, the SQ2 processor.
Microsoft announced the Surface Laptop Go Thursday afternoon, after earlier in the day the specifications already online came. The Surface Laptop Go is, according to the company, “the most affordable Surface laptop ever.” The starting price is 649 euros and for that money buyers get a laptop with a 12.4 “touchscreen with a 3: 2 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1536×1024 pixels.
Microsoft equips the device with an unspecified 10th generation Core i5 quad-core. This probably concerns the Core i5-1130G7. Three configurations will appear. For the starting price, users get 4GB of ram and 64GB of eMMC flash storage. The laptop has a Precision trackpad and a full-size keyboard. The two more expensive models have a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button that allows logging in via Windows Hello. The 720p webcam does not support Windows Hello. Furthermore, the device has two USB ports: one Type A and one Type C.

Surface Pro X
Microsoft also has its Surface Pro X-laptop upgraded with an SQ2 processor, which the company co-developed with Qualcomm. In fact, it is a modified one Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G, which Qualcomm announced last month. The SQ2 is combined with a Gigabit LTE modem. The other specifications are identical to those of the existing Pro X: there is a 13 “screen with 2880×1920 pixels, 16GB ram and a maximum of 512GB SSD storage and that SSD is relatively easy to replace. The Surface Pro X with SQ2-soc is available from 27 October for a suggested retail price starting at 1699 euros.
