Microsoft comes with a new Perfect Dark game. That is the first time in fifteen years. The franchise was created by development studio Rare, but development of this upcoming title is in the hands of Microsoft studio The Initiative.
The announcement trailer does not show gameplay, it focuses only on the story with CG footage. The game takes place in the near future, where climate change has had profound consequences. Although the earth is suffering, ‘the corporations’ came up with the technology to maintain habitable environments for people.
The Initiative is a new American game studio that Microsoft has founded. This consists of former employees of studios such as Activision, Crystal Dynamics, Square Enix, Riot Games, 343 Industries and more. This will be their first game. It will at least be released for the new generation of Xbox, but a release date has not yet been set. The first Perfect Dark came out in 2000 for the Nintendo 64. It was the successor to GoldenEye 64.
