Previously, the technology company had opened many stores in several locations, one of which was Manhattan’s Fifth Ave, but it was undeniable that the impact of the spread of the Covid19 virus forced the company to close its stores.

Some technologies will also be showcased by Microsoft, such as Surface PCs, Xbox, Minecraft, Windows and Office, but they will not sell their products.

The giant technology company will continue to sell its products online, with an estimated 1.2 billion people joining and visiting some of the company’s online sites, including Microsoft.com.

“Our sales have grown online because our product portfolio has evolved into the majority of digital offerings, and our talented team has proven successful in serving customers outside of any physical location,” said Microsoft Vice President David Porter.

Microsoft said that the closing of the store will incur a tax of around USD450 million.

The number of physical stores that have moved to digital since the last few years has made official outlet revenue small for Microsoft.

“This is a difficult strategic decision, but it is smart to make Nadella & Co. at this point,” Wedbush analysts wrote in his note.
