The new employees are destined for the offices in Zurich, Bern and Geneva, Hinkel told the “Sonntagszeitung”. However, the company feels a shortage of skilled workers. Microsoft Switzerland has therefore decided to personally train the young people. To explain why Switzerland is important to the cloud business, Hinkel referred to legal certainty regarding data storage and “ideal conditions for innovation”.
According to Hinkel, Microsoft is ready for a possible power outage. The company has been rated “systematically important” for data centers and the contingency plan also includes operation with generators.
