Microsoft began testing the redesigned Widget Bar in Windows 11 in October of this year when the feature became available to Windows Insiders on the Dev channel. Now this update has begun to roll out to stable versions of the OS, as some Windows 11 22H1 and Windows 11 22H2 users have noticed.

The developers tested several options for the location of the widget control panel, which can be displayed not only horizontally, but also vertically. According to the source, users can interact with the widget panel without permission in a Microsoft account. This feature first appeared in Windows 11 Test Build 25262, which became available to Insiders earlier this year. According to reports, the Widget Bar Update component is being rolled out in stages. This means that it will take some time before it is widely distributed to all compatible devices.
