The fact that in 2019 Microsoft was considering the possibility of buying Square Enix became known from documents released during the hearings on the company’s legal proceedings and the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC). One of the first to paid attention edition of The Verge.

strengthen the position of Xbox in Asian markets; add more games, including the Final Fantasy series, to the Game Pass library ahead of the launch of Xbox Series X|S; use the help of specialists from Square Enix to develop games from other studios, including Deux Ex; develop Game Pass for mobile devices through Square Enix exclusives.
