Mick Schumacher reports that negotiations have begun with the official Audi F1 team[F1-Gate.com]

Mick Schumacher is reportedly in talks with Audi’s official F1 team.

Mick Schumacher’s future in F1 beyond the 2022 season is uncertain, with Haas expecting to make a decision on his 2023 driver lineup soon. Mick Schumacher is reportedly vying to drive with the former Force India driver and of Renault Nico Hulkenberg next year.

The Haas F1 team has hinted that Mick Schumacher will need to do more to keep his spot as he nears the end of his second F1 season.

However, it has been reported that Mick Schumacher’s future in F1 may be Audi’s official F1 team.

On Wednesday, October 26, Audi announced that it would acquire a majority stake in the Sauber Group to become an official F1 team in 2026. The announcement follows an announcement earlier this year that it will join the racing grid. F1 as an engine supplier in 2026, when new powertrain regulations come into effect.

The Sauber-managed F1 project has been managed by Alfa Romeo since 2019, but that partnership will end at the end of the 2023 season.

Sauber will then begin the switch to Audi, with German journalist Ralf Bach advertising Mick Schumacher as the favorite to drive the Audi.

“I think it’s important for Mick to get through 2023,” said Ralf Bach.

Because its future depends on Audi.

As a German automaker, it’s no surprise that Audi wants a German driver and Mick Schumacher’s marketability would make him an attractive option.

But if Mick Schumacher is released by the Haas F1 team in 2023, former F1 driver Christian Danner is in favor of his return to the grid.

“I don’t think it’s bad for a guy like him to take a year off,” said Christian Danner.

“He is still very young and can easily resume his F1 career afterwards.”

Valtteri Bottas currently has a multi-year contract with the team, while Chinese Zhou Guanyu has a contract until 2023.

Sauber also has a high opinion of its training driver Theo Prucher, who is expected to win a place in F1 in the future.

But now that Audi has acquired the majority of the team, the seat could end up in the hands of Mick Schumacher.
