Michel Sarran takes a radical decision

Michel Sarran, the doubly starred and sworn chef of Top chef, had signed a few days ago, a forum against the too rapid opening of restaurants. This Monday, May 25 on RTL, he spoke precisely on the subject. He said he was not going to reopen his restaurants on June 2. A thoughtful decision which he then explained. “Me personally I know that I will not reopen on June 2, I want to wait to be able to welcome my customers as well as possible, that they feel safe (…), that they can find pleasure in coming to our place“, he indicates before specifying that he will agree”the time required“, so that its establishments are compliant.”There will be lots of points to deal with, space but also a whole bunch of gestures that were as common as cards. The normal card for example will surely no longer be possible so we must find a replacement“, he then indicates. For the chef, one thing comes first: security. It specifies: “We need economic and health security because it will not be easy. The health aspect is important: knowing the entire protocol is important for implementing it.“

The desire is not lacking

It’s not the desire to reopen its restaurants missing Star chef. “We want to welcome our customers again, it’s our job, we are entrepreneurs, we have companies to run, to support many employees“, he admits. But, he adds:”In two and a half months, our businesses have become extremely fragile. Open, we want but not under any conditions. “. The juror of Top chef is however satisfied with the measures taken by the government. “The abandonment of the four square meters (per customer), this is very good news, but limiting it to 50% will be more difficult because we do not know what the behavior of our customers will be“, he reveals before reporting:”I cannot condemn the government because it shows a desire to help us with partial unemployment, for example, which allows us to get through the crisis a little.“
