Michael Bay is going to make a remake of the Danish film The ambulance (2005). Jake Gyllenhaal would be negotiating to play the lead, reports Deadline Thursday.
Bay expects to start recording at the end of January. Sources tell Deadline that Universal would have secured the rights. The film’s script was written by Chris Fedak and is said to be in line with ’90s action thrillers, such as Speed and Bays own Bad Boys.
The story is said to be about two brothers who steal an ambulance. In it, they find a female care worker and a patient in a critical condition.
Next Ambulance Bay is also in talks with Sony about the film Black 5, about a secret special force.
