In the book ‘Agenda Raum Schweiz’, planning experts reflect on Switzerland’s spatial future. The book will have its vernissage at the Kulturpark on Monday 31 October.

Ten years ago, the milestone “Swiss Spatial Concept” was published. However, it does not and does not have solutions to many current questions and megatrends, in particular migration, climate change and digitalisation, but also land rights, affordable housing and the perspective of the Alpine region.

That is why the two landscape researchers and space observers Hans-Georg Bächtold and Köbi Gantenbein provided a platform on which space planners and sociologists, geographers and architects, geologists, economists and other experts could think, talk and write about spatial planning. ‹Switzerland agenda area›Started as an online project, 33 articles have now been revised and published in book form. The result is not a systematic treatise, but a collage, which has been supplemented with interjections from companies and institutions – from Alpiq to SBB.

The book is a handbook for dialogue with universities, planning offices, federal planning offices, cantons, regions and municipalities. His 33 essays and 20 positions show the way to a future-oriented, imaginative and useful “Swiss space strategy”.
