Mexico sends 101 fighters to Canada due to forest fires

Government Mexico sent 101 forest fire fighters to the province of Ontario, Canada with the aim of helping in the work of extinction of claims, given the serious situation that the country is going through.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Relations (WED) and the National Forestry Commission (Conafor) reported that the team is made up of five brigades, five brigade chiefs, 20 crew chiefs, two representatives of the field unit, a COVID-19 coordinator and the rest as line combatant personnel.

Canada currently classified the situation in its country around the fires as critical and declared emergency level 5, which is the highest around claims.

As of Thursday afternoon, the western United States and Canada had 309 fires, 23 of which started in the past two days.
