Mexican taxi drivers demonstrate against Uber in Oaxaca
The arrival of Uber in the state of Oaxaca or even the municipality will bring negative repercussions for the taxi union, a situation that they will not allow, said Luis Alfonso Reyes, president of the Union of Drivers of Oaxaca (Mexico).
He added that even in cities or states larger than Oaxaca, the public transport service was also opposed to the arrival of the company.
Reyes said that the urban area of the city is too small to have more competition.
For this reason, he explained, they ask the Ministry of Mobility (Semovi) in Oaxaca to analyze this matter well.
It is worth mentioning that on December 20, 2019, the company Uber México Technology & Software SA de CV filed an appeal against the sentence of the Ministry of Mobility (Semovi), because its intentions were to have a presence in the state capital, the Coast region and part of the Basin.
