Metropolitan Museum of Art to Return $550,000 Donation from FTX Crypto Exchange

As we discussed in a December 2022 article, the new management team of the bankrupt crypto exchange FTX is asking politicians and various entities to return the money they received from FTX and its former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried.

This is what the Metropolitan Museum of Art de New Yorkthe largest art museum in the United States, which will return $550,000 that he had received as gifts.

And document court indicates that the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (MET) agreed to return in full payments made in March and May 2022 by FTX subsidiary West Realm Shires Services.

In order to see this money return to its coffers, FTX had indicated that it planned to take legal action against persons and entities who refused to return the money received, often in the form of donations.

The team in charge of straightening the accounts of FTX will therefore be able to use these 550,000 dollars to pay certain creditors of the trading platform which owes billions of dollars.

Among the donations made by Sam Bankman-Fried are the current US President, Joe Bidenwho received 5 million dollars from SBF.
It remains to be seen whether the US president intends to return the money to the new FTX team.
