Metroid Prime 4: New Leaks Reveal Open and Detailed Environments

Metroid Prime 4 could be the blemish on the Nintendo Switch’s nearly flawless catalog of releases over the past six years. With development announced in 2017 and a reboot in 2019, now with Retro Studios, Samus Aran’s action series returns to the spotlight every now and then, keeping the fire of gamers’ excitement alive.

In this case, it’s not a release window or official news, but information shared by Shpeshal_Nick in which he revealed that sources who have tested Metroid Prime 4 confirm the gameWill feature more open and detailed environments than previous entries in the seriescalling it “visually incredible” (thanksXfire).

As for those open environments, while Metroid Prime never had much openness (although Metroid Prime 3 did play with that feature), this new focus on open environments would explain why they had to reconsider restarting development at Retro Studios.

While we’re betting Metroid Prime 4 will jump straight to the Nintendo Switch successor, there’s always hope that Nintendo will make us a surprise announcement soon – perhaps at next week’s Gamescom?
